News & Notices
February 2002
- February 25, 2002 This evening, some people have received
busies on 563-6622. This was caused by a modem server that is causing us
some trouble this evening and making 48 fewer lines available. It is being
investigated right now and we hope to have it fixed either this evening if
it needs to be restarted or in the morning if it needs to be replaced.
- February 24, 2002 2:00-3:00pm. There will be two short (1
minute) interuptions in service to people served from the Benner Hill
Tower during this time. This includes Union as well. This Sunday afternoon
is a least disruptive time to switch radios around for testing.
- February 21, 2002 9:00am. The T1 to Damariscotta went out of
service earlier this morning, apparently due to the weather. We think it
sent a surge into a piece of our equipment, as when we reset things here,
it restarted again. This could cause people to not be able to use the
internet in Damariscotta and Wiscasset earlier this morning. A T1 to
Sprint was also out, but we the traffic came in via another internet
connection automatically.
- February 19, 2002 11:00am. Power is out at Benner Hill. This
affected wireless customers using that site, as well as Union. An employee
is at Benner Hill starting the generator there now. (We put a generator
there after the ice storm of a month ago). 1:00pm. Power was restored and
things are fine again.
- February 17, 2002 2:00-3:00pm. There will be two short (1
minute) interuptions in service to people served from the Benner Hill
Tower during this time. This includes Union as well. This Sunday afternoon
is a least disruptive time to switch radios around for testing.
- February 13, 2002 5:00-6:00pm. Some people may have noticed
slowness browsing. Two of our six T1s were not working properly due to a
problem with C&Ws equipment in Boston. The traffic switched over to
the other T1s and overloaded things slightly during this time. Everything
has been corrected now.
- February 7, 2002 6:00-6:20pm. Power was out in Damariscotta.
Most things were run on generator, but one server had to be restarted,
causing authentication problems for about 20 minutes for people using the
Damariscotta and Wiscasset/Bath number.
- February 4, 2002 563-6622 has had 24 lines added. Some lines
were also removed from 563-6644. This was done because 563-6622 and 563-8999
are more reliable than 563-6644, so we are moving customers away from 563-6644.
