- October 31, 2006 Some Adelphia/TimeWarner customers are
having trouble checking email on midcoast servers. This is due to a DNS
problem with that service. We will be relaying this issue to TimeWarner.
- October 28, 2006 4:00pm. Union wireless and dialup went out
of service due an extended power outage. Power was restored on the 29th
late in the morning, but equipment was damaged. Equipment was replaced
in the afternoon. Service was restored at about 5pm on the 29th.
- October 28, 2006 4:00pm. Tidewater area DSL is out of service
and Waldoboro wireless is out of service due the power outage in
Waldoboro outlasting our UPS. Service will be restored with power.
Update Oct 29, power was restored in the early morning. Service
went out again late in the evening on the 29th due to a power outage in
Nobleboro. Nobleboro ran on generator until power was restored at 10am
Oct 30.
- October 28, 2006 North Haven Wireless customers are
experiencing an outage. The power has gone out at our repeater location
and outlasted our battery backup system. Service should be restored as
soon as power returns. This could be an intermittent problem due to the
weather. Update: This also affects many Islesboro customers whom
utilize the Dark Harbor tower. Power was restorted at about 11pm on the
28th.
- October 28, 2006 Tommys Island wireless customers are
experiencing trouble today. We believe it is a problem with the high
winds misalligning our antenna at Benner Hill Rockland. We were
unsucessful at repairing it today. JP almost succeeded at getting blown
off the roof at the Benner Hill building though. We will repair it when
the weather is better. Update Oct 30, 2006 10am. Tommys Island
wireless service is restored as a result of changing antennas at Benner
Hill.
- October 28, 2006 Monhegan wireless customers are experiencing
intermittent trouble today. We believe it is a problem with the high
winds misalligning our antenna there. We will repair it when the weather
is better. Update: The antenna on Monhegan has been realigned and
is working as normal again. We will have some bracing construction to prvent
this in the future.
- October 27, 2006 This morning, Belfast wireless customers who
aim to the Green Store will be out of service at times while we correct
a problem and upgrade the link there.
- October 25, 2006 10:30am-10:40am. Wireless customers in
Camden or who aim to Ragged were out of service during this time due to
a power failure at our Camden location that outlasted our UPS.
- October 24, 2006 11:30am-12:00pm. Service was out at
the Owls Head tower during this time. CMP was doing some
unscheduled work that knocked out power. We have switched to
generator power for the rest of the day while they work.
- October 20, 2006 11:50am-12:30pm. During this time,
wireless customers in Belfast will experience an outage. This is
due to an upgrade we are working on.
- October 12, 2006 7:15-7:45am. Power was out at Benner Hill
due to a failed circuit breaker. This caused a short outage for
tidewater area DSL users and many wireless users.
- October 11, 2006 10:00am.
A new webmail software is installed on the new server for
kona/free email accounts. This new webmail software is called SquirrelMail
and has great new features such as address book, spell check,
and many custom preferences. It is accessible from the www.midcoast.com homepage.
- October 11, 2006 9:00am. The server upgrade for
kona.midcoast.com/free.midcoast.com went well. The process took
about ten minutes. The new server has substantially more memory
and a new dual core AMD 64bit processor. This will allow for
more speed in mail checking and more future capacity.
- October 11, 2006 8:30-9:00am. The server for
kona.midcoast.com/free.midcoast.com will be upgraded during this time.
This will cause an email delay during the few minutes it takes to
tranfer the email and accounts to the new server.
- October 3, 2006 Some Westport 900mhz customers are having a
problem due to an antenna problem at our tower.
- October 2, 2006 Wireless customer in Belfast are out of
service. We have sent a tech to Belfast to address the problem. We have
scheduled a complete upgrade for Belfast in the near future. This problem was
resolved with a restart of the equipment.
