- Sept 28, 2003 2:30pm. Power was out for a short time on Benner
Hill mid-day today. Benner Hill is running on generator power now. This
affected Union and wireless customers who are via by Benner Hill. Our
other equipment in Rockland is powered by an auto-starting diesel
generator.
- Sept 24, 2003 10:00am. A filter has been installed on the
server for all @midcoast.com email addresses that blocks both incoming
and outgoing viruses and executables sent by email. At its current
rate it will be blocking a few thousand nasty worms and viruses per day.
If someone needs to send a legitimate executable program by email,
they should compress it first. This filter should not be used as
a substitute for virus protection on your computer, but it should
reduce the clutter of worms and viruses that arrive by email.
- Sept 24, 2003 9:45am-10:15am. The wireless service through
to the courthouse in Rockland was out while a lightning arrestor was
being changed.
- Sept 24, 2003 8:00am-9:00am. The server for www.midcoast.com
had to be shut down during this period for a file system check.
- Sept 22, 2003 9:00. This morning, some people had errors when
checking email. This has been fixed.
- Sept 21, 2003 During the afternoon, the spam identifying
software took a break, permitting spam to come through to people who
filter or block it. This was fixed at 7pm. No mail was lost, just the
filters were ineffective for a few hours.
- Sept 12, 2003 11:45am-12:20pm. The server for www.midcoast.com
had an unscheduled reboot during this time. Things are fine now.
- Sept 4, 2003 8:20am. There is a weather or lightning related
problem which affected some wireless customers. This was traced to a
damaged ethernet card and was replaced. Things are working fine a 10am
now.
